Is The Artist Present?
2016
Like Marina Abramovic’s canonical piece "The Artist Is Present", I offer one person at a time to seat in front of me, however I’m present via screen. In that way, there are two kinds of present live body: The real-physical and the virtual-digital. What information and energy are being shared in this meeting? What happens when screens are no longer means of escaping one-self, but reflecting and being present?
"There is a point between what you want people to know about you and what you can't help people knowing about you, and that's have to do with what I always call The gap between intention and a fact" (Diana Arbus).
In this work, I invite the audience to see what we can (and can't and can't help) know about each other from behind the screen.
The work performed in Binyamin Gallery and in Art Space gallery.
